                                                        The Staff Hardware FPGA Engineer

The Staff Hardware FPGA Engineer is needed to staff on-going FPGA test module development and enhancements for 40 GigE and 100 GigE platforms.

The Staff FPGA Engineer will be part of a motivated team designing next generation network test equipment. Typical systems are implemented using the fastest and largest FPGA’s available on the market. These FPGA’s are used to implement the most recent and fastest network technologies.

The Staff FPGA Engineer will design a complex FPGA system consisting of the FPGA, Phy interfaces, CPU interfaces and data pipelines. The Engineer will also be responsible for the implementation, debug, documentation and the verification of Verilog code to be synthesized and routed in the FPGA. The Engineer will work as part of a project team including firmware, software, board design and manufacturing engineers.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

•The Engineer will be an FPGA designer on future high speed Ethernet PCB's that are part of a high speed Ethernet test system. Work will be done with a team of FPGA designers, PCB designers, FW engineers, and PV engineers. Design responsibilities will include initial design specification, detailed circuit analysis, simulation, design verification and regression testing.
•Support for existing FPGA designs. This work will be done on the Spirent Test Center platforms. The Engineer will add enhancements and features to the design and fix problems that may be found with existing designs.
•Lead technical efforts on implementing features that are requested by engineering or marketing.
•Document and communicate design work that is implemented during the development process.


BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent


Minimum 8 years design and development of high speed digital systems
