Please note: The current office location is located in Germantown, MD and is not near a Metro Station so it can be challenging to get to using public transportation.  Also, in the fall of 2015 we are planning on relocating to Washington, DC to be closer to our current customer base.  Our hope is to be within walking distance to a Metro!!

Duties and Responsibilities:

As an integral member of the Senior Management Team, the Controller duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

Contribute to organizational goals by providing strategic financial analysis and financial information. Assist in the development of long and short-term business operating goals. Ensures all legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions.

Directs all finance and accounting reporting matters including: monthly/quarterly/annual closings; budgeting; forecasting, payroll/receiving supervision (A/P, A/R, etc.); revenue recognition, cash management/treasury and vendor management. Manages banking, partner vendor relationships

Ensures timeliness, accuracy and usefulness of financial and management reporting for the CEO and Board of Directors. Prepares and communicates regular financial information to Executive Management Team.

Develops, analyzes and interprets statistical and accounting information in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the company.

Develops and maintains internal controls and financial accounting systems for internal and external reporting and analysis. Ensures internal controls and confidentiality are established, maintained and revised as appropriate; monitors procedural systems, identifies issues/weaknesses and recommends changes and/or improvements. Leads the relationship with the company’s auditors and manage the completion of all of the company’s financial audits.

Develops and maintains planning and budgeting systems, prepares annual departmental budgets and manages corporate financial performance. Reviews all month end activities, including general ledger maintenance, balance sheet reconciliations and corporate/overhead cost allocations.



Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

8+ years of progressive finance experience; including general accounting, financial statement preparation and reconciliations.

4+ years of experience managing an accounting staff preferably in a Federal Government Contractor environment.

Thorough understanding of Cost Accounting Standards and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).

Experience working with government auditors as well as external audit teams.

Strong management, interpersonal and communication skills.

Highly organized and detail oriented.

Strong financial systems experience (preference to Deltek CostPoint).


MBA or MS in Accounting/Finance

CPA certificate
