Tire Development Engineer

 

A senior level, experienced tire design engineer who will be responsible for the design of new and modification of existing passenger and light truck/SUV tires to market specifications.  Must be someone to share their work experiences with younger associates in a mentoring type of role. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

Develop new innovative products and technologies for Kenda Tire

Analyze critical tire-vehicle interactions

Serve as a technical liaison with customers as well as the Kenda business team

Utilize computational tools to predict or model tires 

Expand fundamental knowledge of tire mechanics

Contribute to the reorganization of the tire development process

 

Educational Qualifications / Experience / Abilities

 

A minimum of 10 years of tire design and engineering experience with PCR and LTR/SUV product (preferably 20+ years of experience)

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required 

Must have leadership capability and mentoring qualities

Ability to utilize advanced scientific methodologies

Fundamental understanding of scientific principles

AUTOCAD / Catia experience

Ability to form strong working relationships with Kenda's associates and customers

Ability to work in a cross-functional setting

Ability to adapt to new challenges

Tire development experience is required

Tire manufacturing experience is desired

Understanding of vehicle dynamics is desired

Solid written and verbal communication skills

Willingness to travel
