We have an exciting opportunity for a software engineer to join our fast growing, highly visible Watson North American innovations organization.

IBM is hiring Solution Engineers, Software Test Engineers, Software Developers, and User Interface developers into the Watson innovation team which is responsible for building and extending the Watson technology. You will join the team of professionals who are taking this exciting, ground-breaking machine learning technology and applying it to some of the most complex and demanding challenges facing humanity today.

The IBM Watson offerings are based on the solution created by IBM Research and is a platform which is very different from most common software/hardware platforms in that it involves an uncommon and complex system of systems. These new product offerings will meet the requirements of an emerging market for demonstrated Question/Answer Solutions (AS). The capability is based on Unstructured Information Management Architecture (UIMA) as an Open Source framework for deployment of a highly parallel, probabilistic infrastructure running across dozens of discrete Linux systems.

Individuals interested in this job should have demonstrated technical ability as a developer, test engineer, services developer, system administrator or support engineer. Although the programming involved may not be more than use of scripting languages, it will be necessary for candidates to quickly comprehend fundamental Watson concepts. Familiarity with the Linux operating environment and Linux scripting languages is also desirable.

  • At least 3 years experience in Healthcare industry knowledge
  • At least 1 year experience in Web 2.0 application developement, JavaScript, Dojo, CSS, Ajax, REST API's
  • At least 3 years experience in DB2
  • At least 3 years experience in XML
